Have you considered starting your own home based business?
I hadn’t, just realised I didn’t want to carry on doing a job I wasn't really enjoying, getting up too early to see my children - who would be in bed by the time I got back - and spending my life in meetings. (or travelling to meetings)

I have spent most of my working 'career' working for companies where I was earning money for someone else. So I took a lot of books out from the library and put together my 6 point plan for starting my own business. They are probably not unique, if you get some books out on an home based business opportunity you will probably find them in most. Anyway:

1.The very first thing to do is to talk to your partner. Nothing can wreck a partnership quicker then you going of on a tangent and not involving them! (Having said that it’s your life - I have met a lot of people with negative partners who suddenly became enthusiastic when they saw the money come in!)

2.Move slowly if you can – if you have a job try to start your business in your spare time. That way you have the security of an income (it is possible to start your own business and not tell your employer!)

3.Don’t spend any money until you know all the facts. Whether it’s your own invention, you are buying a franchise or launching an internet site hang on to your money as long as you can. When it’s gone it’s gone!

4.Decide what you enjoy. It’s your own business – some of the most successful businesses were started because someone’s hobby made money for them.

5.Decide where you want to run your business. Dream a little – want to run it from a flat in town, or house in the south of france or a boat in the carribean. It’s your business, you can make it happen

6.No matter what business you want to start, you must go and talk to people already doing the business.

So I made up my plan – and decided to explore a number of opportunities. Attended a franchise exhibition, searched the internet, etc. By sheer coincidence I spotted this 'work from home' advert, responded and attended (feeling very cynical) a herbalife meeting.

The Herbalife opportunity ticked all the boxes in my plan and I have been a distributor for almost 4 years. The nice thing is that although I run my own business there is a complete support network of likeminded people. Below is just one example.
